"THE ALL AMERICAN SOLDIER" SONG

The 82nd Airborne Division's official song; "The All American Soldier" is still available for play in a stand alone "Windows Media Player" window from a link at the bottom of the page. The decision to eliminate the autostart feature for this song was made in response to complaints regarding bandwidth issues in opening the page.

This little tune was written by the Prolific Carl Sigman while serving as a glider rider in the 325th Glder Infantry Regiment in 1942. Sargeant Sigman was later awarded the Bronze Star for action in the European Theater of Operations. The song takes a little while to load but is worth a listen. A real peice of airborne history.

505th PIR redesignated 3/505th

The 505th PIR AHA has a new designation. We are now the 3rd Battalion 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment. This change has been effected in order to avoid confusion of our organization with other living history groups based on the 505th PIR. The 3rd Battalion was involved in every combat operataion undertaken by the regiment during World War II and has an interesting history.
