MISSION OF THE 505th PARACHUTE INFANTRY REGIMENT

The 505th PIR is an organization composed of historians, living historians, collectors, and educators dedicated to the preservation of and fostering interest in the history, traditions, and equipment of the United States Airborne forces of World War Two.

This Organization is based in the Pacific Northwest and serves to accomplish its goals through the following activities:
  • Technical support to museums and veterans organizations
  • Restoration and preservation of military equipment and other artifacts associated with Airborne history
  • Educational instruction and displays to schools, organizations, and the general public.
  • Living history interpretation.
  • Publication of material related to Airborne history, traditions, equipment and practices.

The 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment is not a political or religious organization. Nor does it operate for profit. Funding for our activities is out of pocket in nature. Our only motive is as outlined above.
