505th PIR (AHA) Website History

Thursday, August 31st, 2000

Website of the 505st PIR (Airborne Historical Association) is created.
The 505th.html page is created using HTML3.2.
JAVA script is used to open a raw file of a "V-disc" recording of Three Fats Waller tunes and One Glen Miller tune. It is found that the main page does not open completely due to the opening of the Real Player window used to play the raw file.
Links to other portions of the website are added but are not functional.

Friday, September 1st, 2000

Java Script opening the above raw file is removed from the 505th.html file.
Stick.jpg is added to it.

Saturday, September 2nd, 2000

Pages for the links and vendor list pages are added and backgrounds are created and assigned to them.
Contrast problems make the text hard to read.
Backgrounds are "fixed" thus enableing the text only to scroll down.
Some links are added.
Links to other portions of the site are added to the links page.

Sunday, September 3rd, 2000

Work is undertaken to correct the text/background contrast problem by altering the vendor list page background and by altering the text color on all pages.
"uc.html", an "Under Construction" notice is added.
All existing pages (except for the site history page) in the site are interlinked.
The site history log is created and a link to it is added to the 505th.html page only.
e-mail links to the webmaster with apropriate subject headings appended to them are added to all pages except the site history page.

Monday, September 4th, 2000

e-mail links for broken link reporting and addition requests added to links page.
Spelling error on site history page corrected.
Uniform standards page started.
Banner containing inernal links to site pages started. Font color in banner needs alteration. Banner included in Uniform Standards and Vendor List pages only at this time.
Link to Uniform and Authenticity Standards page added to all pages in site except the site history page.
layoutbw1.gif removed and replaced by ABbg1.jpg as background for Vendor List page.
Font Color and Size adjusted on Vendor List Page.
Intersite links removed from Vendor List page.

Links updated in all existing pages, except site history page, in Banner format.
Announcement of Message center added to 505th.html with Bravenet banners.
Counter added to 505th.html .
