Greetings!
The "us" is me and my Bouviers.....
I am David Sheckler, and own/breed Bouviers under the kennel name of Gryphon Bouviers. I've been in dogs a long time, and have known and loved Bouviers for years. I currently live close to Portland Oregon on 4 acres of farmlands on a ridge southwest of town.

I saw my first Bouvier in the early 80's in the Chicago suburb of Winnetka, and quickly fell in love with its temperament, intelligence and strength. It took a while and I finally got my first Bouvier in 1989, after the last of my Labradors had passed away. If you want to learn some details about me specifcally, follow this link (more about Dave).
I am a member of a number of All-Breed and Bouvier Clubs, and show in conformation events. I have been involved with agility training in the past, and may put some of our dogs through their paces in agility trials in the future. I am fascinated by the herding instinct of the Bouvier, and am amazed to watch them at Herding trials with their strong ability to have the sheep do their bidding.
I have a strong belief that Bouviers are not for everyone. They are hairy, big, strong, they can sometimes be stubborn, and they should have extensive socialization to make sure they grow up right. Before you consider getting a Bouvier, please read Don't Buy a Bouvier by Pam Green.
Also, I recommend that you go to the page on Owning a Bouvier, where it discusses some aspects of raising and caring for your "hairy" beast.
Gryphon Bouviers is a "home operation", and not a commercial kennel. All of the dogs and puppies are raised in the house, and I believe VERY strongly in having them health tested for OFA, CERF, and other certifications.
I also groom and handle Bouviers (as well as some other breeds) for other owners, so if you have questions please feel free to contact me.
