Gryphon Bouviers |
I do not breed very often, preferring to breed only what I feel will
advance the Breed. I normally produce at most one litter a year, sometimes
skipping years if I feel it is not time. All breeding animals are OFA and
health tested, and the expectation is the same from any bitches coming in
for stud service.
All puppies are home raised, being whelped at the house and handled with loving care. Great pains are taken to socialize the puppies well, and stimulate their senses during the important first five weeks. Visitors are allowed into the house carefully and cautiously, making sure that people are not bringing in potentially debilitating diseases which could impact the puppies - these new people, with new voices and sizes/shapes are important for the puppies to experience. The backyard contains a mini-obstacle course, where the puppies run, play, and go up/over/through various ramps, tunnels, and objects.

By the time the puppies are ready to go to new homes, they have had their first shots, have had thier ears and tails done, and have had their temperaments and attitudes evaluated so that they match up to their new families.
All Gryphon Bouvier puppies are placed with written purchase agreements. I give health guarantees, and clearly specify a"first right of refusal" if a puppy/adolescent/adult needs to leave the original Owner's home for any reason.
Gryphon Bouvier puppies are sold as companion animals, with the expectation that they live as integral parts of the family in the house. Thre is a requirement that Owners have fenced yards.
Gryphon Bouvier puppies sold as "non-show/non-breeding" companions are placed with an AKC Limited Registration, and a contract which clearly states these animals are Limited Registration. These agreements can only be changed by us at a later date, so we can be confident that only those dogs appropriate for breeding down the line, are bred.
