New DSL Software

for the FONIX FP40/FP40-D Hearing Aid Analyzers ver. 3.40 and above

DSL fitting formulas are now included in all new FP40/FP40-D instruments equipped with Probe (real ear) functions

Here's what you can do with our DSL Function...

Enter hearing thresholds and the age of the child.

You will then see an SPL-o-gram with:

• thresholds in SPL
• mid-range real ear target
• predicted upper level of comfort
• average child or adult speech spectrum for counseling purposes

You can make real ear measurements for quiet signals, average speech and loud sounds on this screen for verification purposes.

When it is impossible or inconvenient to do all of these measurements in the real ear, chamber measurements can be substituted.

RECD (real ear to coupler difference) measurements are made easy in the FP40/FP40-D. The insert earphone needs to be measured only once in a coupler. The response is stored, ready to be compared to the response of the insert earphone in the client.

With our latest software version 3.50, custom RECD measurements are used to tailor-fit the real ear target values. Previously only coupler targets were found using the custom RECD, but now, when you use a DSL fitting rule, the RECD measurement is also used to calculate the three real-ear targets. These new targets will be fine-tuned to your client's needs, making the fitting process smoother and faster than ever.

You can see Coupler Gain targets for Wide Dynamic Range Compression aids that simulate real-ear targets at amplitudes ranging from 40 dB to 100 dB in 5-dB steps. Test and adjust the aid in the sound chamber against the DSL targets.

If you want to send a prescription to the manufacturer, add reserve gain and send the test strip to the selected company. Even compression ratios are calculated for you. Linear hearing aids may also be prescribed.

Existing FP40/FP40-Ds may be upgraded.
