Atlas Telecom

Accomplishments at Atlas Telecom

During my tenure as a senior technical instructor at Atlas Telecom I developed training classes for both the FAX Store and Forward System and the PCS Messenger System . These systems employ industrial grade personal computers running SCO UNIX as T1/E1 interfaces to the telephone system (PSTN or Public Switched Telephone Network) and either Sequent or Solaris (standard or fault-tolerant) computers for message storage/forwarding and data base management. Network management utilizes a standard Sun workstation running snmp.

The relational database system of Atlas systems is Oracle, generally accessed by a proprietary user interface. The local area networks on which these system components communicate is, depending upon configuration, either ethernet or FDDI.

I taught these classes both as internal workshops and as customer classes in the Atlas Telecom corporate training center and on-site at Deutsche Telecom in Monchengladbach Germany.
