SUMMARY:  NSYNC, Chris, JC and Justin.  Chris and JC are nasty;
Justin is a victim. Inspired by a LiveJournal entry from
thebitchtrolls.

Victim, by Mercutio (mercutio@europa.com)

Chris and JC are both nasty in their own ways. Chris is more open
about it, and although most people tend to see him as
happy-go-lucky and hyper, JC doesn't. Doesn't even see those
qualities in him, just the hard edges and the barely veiled
dangerousness. Chris is the kind of guy who starts barfights with
men twice his size. And usually wins. The junkyard dog, mean as
hell, and always ready to snap and bite. JC's nastiness is mostly
hidden, but when things don't go right in the studio or when
they've had a particularly bad rehearsal, he makes sure people know
it. Know that everything is going to be fixed before anyone goes
home or even gets a moment to sit down. The thing JC cares most
about is the music, and he saves his energy, his passion, for that.
But he has a lot of Chris in him and if he had more of himself to
spread around, he'd be a lot like that.

They both recognize that Justin is a victim. Prey. The perfect
target, someone who can be convinced easily not to tell anyone
what's happening or maybe wouldn't have anyway. Who cries and
hurts and bleeds so you can feel it, know what you're doing to him
is working. Who maybe likes it, because why else would he set
himself up for it, put himself into situations where it's going to
happen over and over again?

They both recognize that he's a victim, and Justin doesn't ever
talk about what's been done to him, and they maybe guard him a bit
more viciously because of that, because no one's going to hurt him
again, not while they're there.

And maybe that's why people think Chris is tame and playful,
because for Justin, he is. Child-like and playful and
affectionate, because he's theirs and they're not ever going to let
him be hurt. Because he's a victim, and he's been hurt enough.
But not by them. Never, ever by them.
