Bannister Creek Forest Preserve is a 600+ acre forest property near the Willamette National Forest in Oregon and was organized and created by Fred and Mary Louise Seubert of Eugene, Oregon in 1998 to provide sustainable timber harvests, restoration of old growth and native plants, sanctuary for wildlife, and minimal impact recreation.
The property was severely damaged by clear cut logging in the mid-20th century, but has made a significant recovery. The preserve is home to many species of trees, shrubs, plants, wildflowers, and animals, including large land mammals. The primary forest cover is dense second growth Douglas fir,and also Western Red Cedar, Incense Cedar, Grand Fir, Hemlock, Alder, Madrone, and other species. The topography is very rugged. A basic system of primitive roads provides access into some areas, but developed trails are very limited. Recreational use of the preserve is reserved for the extended and multi-generational members and guests of the Seubert Family, and others by permission only. No hunting is allowed on the property. All motorized vehicles on the property are restricted to designated roads during the summer and fall. Off road driving is prohibited at all times. Camping is allowed for members and guests.

After purchasing the property in the 1960's, Fred Seubert and the family set about to restore the forest that had been decimated by clear cut logging. They spent many years clearing brush, replanting trees, rechanneling water, and thinning and pruning trees. In 1998, Bannister Creek Forest Preserve LLC was formed. The Operating Agreement describes principles and standards to be followed in the management of Bannister Creek Forest.
