A U.S. Secret Service employee, Anthony Pough, has been placed on administrative leave after a social media post in which he called Charlie Kirk a “spewer of hate and racism” and suggested that his killing was “karma.”
* Pough wrote: “If you are Mourning this guy .. delete me. He spewed hate and racism on his show,” referencing a clip where Kirk called certain Black public figures “affirmative action picks.”
* He also wrote: “At the end of the day, you answer to GOD and speak things into existence. You can only circumvent karma, she doesnt [sic] leave.”
* The Secret Service said Pough’s actions violated its code of conduct and that he has been placed on leave while this is being investigated.
* Pough had been using social media to criticize Kirk prior to this, including sharing clips of Kirk’s past commentary.
“The U.S. Secret Service will not tolerate behavior which violates our code of conduct,” the agency said, emphasizing the importance of maintaining professionalism on and off duty.
